Job Description

We are excited to be expanding our in-house London based edit team with an Edit Assistant.

As a key role in the team you will maintain the daily upkeep of edit suites and communicate with the wider production and edit teams to ensure smooth edit schedules. You will ensure deliverables are technically correct through both Eyeball QC and Automated QC processes and you will be responsible for the delivery of files to broadcasters, delivery partners and client approvals.

You will provide technical support to active projects, ingest media, sync and prepare projects. There will be liaising with external grade and audio facilities to ensure smooth collaboration.  You will assist with the creation of extra deliverables such as social cutdowns and trailers as well as assisting production teams on location with data-wrangling and logging.

Responsibility will be yours for ensuring all freelancers, new starters and current editorial staff work according to the agreed technical workflows.

The ideal person will have at least one year experience in a similar role at a production or post-production company. You will have a strong understanding of Avid Media Composer, Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve and Nexis Pro as well as strong technical knowledge of video and audio standards (i.e. frame rates, aspect ratios, colour spaces, audio loudness, conversion tools, broadcaster technical specifications). Organisation skills along with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail is key as is the ability to work well as part of a team, take initiative and keep a level head under pressure. You will also have a keen interest in maintaining and improving your knowledge of relevant technology and practices.
